In order to be granted leave to remain in the United Kingdom as a student you must show that you have been accepted on a course of study at:
- a publicly-funded institution of Further or Higher Education (for example, a University)
- a private-education institution, or
- an independent fee-paying school
And that you are going to follow:
- a recognised full-time degree course
- a course that involves at least 15 hours of organised daytime study a week, or
- a full-time course of study at an independent fee-paying school
You must also:
- be able to pay for your course and support and accommodate yourself and any dependants without working or help from public funds, and
- plan to leave the United Kingdom when you complete your studies
It is possible to make an application to come to the United Kingdom and stay for up to two years legally as a Working Holiday Maker
The rules provide that in order to make the application you must be a Commonwealth citizen aged between 17 / 30. You must also be able to show that you can pay for your outward journey and that you can maintain yourself without recourse to public funds and cannot have children over the age of 5 at the end of the period as a Working Holiday Make. There are further criteria
